OSE 2026 Update Release Timeline

The road to OSE 2026 is taking shape! We've published a detailed release timeline on the Necrotic Gnome website, but here’s the skinny:

1. The updated core books are currently being prepared for print, with production expected to begin in July 2026.
2. Around the same time, updated PDFs of the new Player's Book and Referee's Book will be released, with existing owners of the current core books from DriveThruRPG and Exalted Funeral receiving the new PDFs free of charge.
3. We'll also publish a companion document summarising the most significant additions, clarifications, and optional rules introduced in the update.
4. The new core books are expected to reach retail shelves in late 2026, alongside updates to the OSE Foundry VTT system and premium modules.
5. The classic B/X-focused version of the game will continue as the OSE Basic Game, available in both PDF and print-on-demand formats from early 2027.
