New Maintainer

The Old-School Essentials rules system and modules on Foundry VTT are now under the expert care of a new developer, who is doing a fantastic job updating everything and engaging with the OSE Foundry VTT community.

We apologise that the OSE Foundry VTT support lagged behind a bit over the last year, and hope that existing users will appreciate the new maintainer's efforts in bringing everything up to speed.

Version 13 Support

The free Old-School Essentials game system and the Old-School Essentials Premium Game have been updated to support the latest version of Foundry VTT, version 13.

The adventures and other premium modules will likewise be updated to version 13 in the near future.

Monster Errors Fixed

A number of errors in monster stats and listings had been reported over the last years. These have now also been fixed in the latest Old-School Essentials Premium Game release.

Moving to the Foundry Marketplace

As we update premium modules, we are making them available in the new Foundry Marketplace. Going forward, the Necrotic Gnome page in the Marketplace will be the hub for all official OSE Foundry VTT premium modules.

Future Plans

Once all existing modules have been updated to Foundry VTT version 13, we plan to work on new features and modules, including:

• Monster tokens: Adding monster token art to the premium Advanced Fantasy compendium. These will feature art from Old-School Essentials by Frank Scacalossi, Stefan Poag, Lucas Korte, Mark Lyons, Juan Ochoa, and other old-school favourites. (We estimate that we have art for around half the monsters in the game. Art for other monsters may be added in future releases.)
• Bug fixes: Addressing previously reported issues in the game system.
• Carcass Crawler: Publishing premium modules for the Carcass Crawler zine issues.
• More adventures: Publishing more premium adventure modules, including Adventure Anthology 1 and Adventure Anthology 2.

If you spot any issues in the OSE game system, please report them in the game's GitHub issue tracker.

Likewise, if you spot issues in any of the premium modules, please report them in our premium modules issue tracker.

Going forward, our plan is to support the current version of Foundry VTT plus the previous version, starting with version 13. (So, once version 14 is released, we will support that plus version 13.)
